2010 Student Research Awards

DR is pleased to announce the 2010 recipients of its Student Research Awards program. This award recognizes high-quality research across multiple research methodologies conducted by students in the course of their undergraduate or graduate special education training program. DR awards up to three such awards annually, with one award presented in each of up to three areas of research designs or methodologies: qualitative, single-subject, and quantitative.

Two awards were made in 2010:

For quantitative research, the award winner was Trish Steinbrecher, Ph.D.,  University of Kansas, Department of Special Education for her work entitled "Measuring the Effects of Teacher Quality on Math Achievement of Studetns with Disabilities." 

For single-subject research, the award was presented to Pamela Mims, Ph.D., University of North Carolina-Charlotte for her work entitled :The Effects of the System of Least Promts on Teaching Comprehensive Skills during a Shared Story to Students with Significant Intellectual Disabilities."
