The CEC Division for Research is devoted to the advancement of research related to the education of individuals with disabilities and/or who are gifted. Membership, currently numbering around 1000, is open to all CEC members.  Through publications, webinars, white papers, advocacy, professional development and awards programs, DR seeks to improve the quality of research on children and youth with special needs and to expand the dissemination and use of evidence-based practices in public and private programs throughout the nation.
